Scion announced today that its iconic xB now comes standard with Bluetooth handsfree and audio streaming Bluetooth and HD Radio for model year 2012.
The xB also features a new standard AM / FM / CD / HD / USB 160-watt maximum output Pioneer audio system. New standard features for 2012 include HD Radio and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing both hands free connection and streaming audio capabilities. Streaming audio allows compatible phones or personal devices of the hand with the audio system and listen to music through the car audio system.
The audio system also includes a screen with an organic electroluminescent display of personalized service, connectivity for iPod / USB, Advanced Sound Retriever, and a subwoofer RCA output. USB and universal auxiliary port located on the center console allows users to listen to their portable music collection xB six Pioneer speakers.
Connectivity is achieved by simply plugging the portable music player, including iPod and iPhone, USB or AUX port. The main unit display shows the track number, song name and artist of select USB drives. Music is controlled through the head unit and steering control buttons on the steering wheel audio for radio, CD and certain USB devices. IPod users can also use an alphabetical speed search to find an artist or album.
The ASR function restores a wide, deep and rich quality to MP3/WMA/AAC sound. With the RCA subwoofer output, xB owners can add an external amplifier to drive one or more subwoofers. For ease of use, multi-selector system for easy control of the main unit. Unique to the standard Pioneer audio system is adapted to the welcome screen that allows users to create a personal message of up to 16 characters.
Optional 200-watt maximum Pioneer premium audio system has the same features as the standard Pioneer audio, but has been improved 5.8-inch LCD touch screen, the features of iTunes tagging, and the Pandora Internet radio iPhone connected, and six RCA jacks for adding external amplifiers.
The two units of standard and premium head to retain key Scion audio system features such as Scion Sound Processing, where listeners can choose from three preset equalizer settings, satellite radio compatibility and MP3 and WMA. In addition, both units adjust the volume control based on driving speed. The sound systems feature six speakers: a tweeter and a speaker in each front door panel, and two large speakers in the rear.
In 2012, the xB has a 2.4-liter double overhead-cam transferred four-cylinder engine with variable valve timing producing 158 horsepower. It is rated California Level II Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV II). XB EPA estimated fuel economy rating of 22 city/28 highway for both gearbox five-speed manual and four-speed automatic with sequential shift.
XB features steel wheels 16-inch and customers can choose from three standard wheel covers. XB stops with 10.83-inch ventilated discs in front and 10.98-inch disc brakes at the rear and features a MacPherson front strut suspension and rear torsion beam.
XB 2012 arrives in showrooms in July this year, and makes for an MSRP of $ 16.300 and $ 17.250 for five-speed manual and four high-speed sequential automatic gearbox, respectively. MSRPs do not include shipping costs.
