ARMIDA Watches & the A1 Diver

By TLex It is my great pleasure to introduce to you the latest new comer to the boutique dive watch arena. ARMIDA Watches are an Austrian owned, Hong Kong based watch company specializing in rugged mechanical dive watches. Like many start ups, they are fulfilling their dream of owning their own dive watch label, which has come from the culmination of 15 yrs of watch collecting and as many years scuba diving.

ARMIDA's first divers model, the ARMIDA A1 1000m has been designed to be a rugged dive watch that offers high legibility. Not only have the A1's dial markings been kept to a bare minimum, but it also features a rather rare and beautiful 3.8mm high-domed sapphire crystal (AR treatment inside), that unlike other crystals that are as highly domed as it is, is pretty much distortion free.

The A1's 316L surgical grade stainless steel case measures Ø 45mm x 19mm (inc. crystal) 46mm (inc. bezel) with a lug to lug measurement of 50mm and an inside lug distance of 24mm. The cases design is ARMIDA's own design. Its many features include; sculpting on the lateral sides of the case, an HEV (helium escape valve), domed and engraved screwdown caseback, oversized signed screwdown crown with chunky grip and a large custom bezel with markings in C3 SuperLuminova, again with chunky bezel teeth to ensure ease of use when being gripped.

The case is water-resistant to 1'000m and is available in two case finishes; brushed or PVD. ARMIDA are also offering two movement options for the A1. Either a Swiss made ETA 2824-2 automatic or a Japanese Miyota 8215 automatic. Prices start from 499USD for the Miyota with a brushed finish - 729USD to the ETA with PVD finish. The A1 is comes presented with both rubber and NATO straps. ARMIDA offer a 1 year international warranty.
