Overview
The Accord sedan and coupe get their most important changes, as they have been redesigned for 2008, including style buttons cost, higher fuel efficiency for some models and a new sedan SE trim level. The Agreement is in competition with the Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Chevrolet Malibu and Ford Fusion.
Fuel economy is a four-cylinder Accord sedan with five-speed automatic has improved, because the improved aerodynamics, reduced engine friction, and a new transmission ratios. Honda says motorway consumption of a V-6 sedan will also increase.
SE sedan adds some features previously available only on the EX, including leather upholstery, heated front seats, driver lumbar support, electrically adjustable and leather-wrapped steering wheel. The interior of the Accord comes to the field of Honda's luxury brand, Acura, using high quality materials, good fit and finish, and a control system based on the navigation option instead of the previous car touch configuration screen. USB audio interface is a standard feature of new sedans and coupes and EX Coupe EX-L adds shift paddles mounted. Interior features include:
- Seating for five
- Standard cloth seats
- Optional leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather seats
- Standard features include air conditioning, cruise control, a CD stereo with an auxiliary input jack, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel with audio buttons and lighted vanity mirrors
- Optional electronics include Bluetooth connectivity, XM Satellite Radio and a premium audio system with a subwoofer
Under The Hood
Front-wheel-drive Accord offers a choice of two 2.4-liter four-cylinder and 3.5-liter V-6.
- The manual or automatic transmission available
- Four-cylinder has 177 horsepower in the LX and SE sedans, 190 horsepower in the LX-S Coupe and EX sedans and coupes
- V-6 makes 271 hp, and when combined with automatic transmission, Honda Variable Cylinder includes handling, fuel economy cylinder deactivation system
- Performance-oriented V-6 Coupe with manual transmission is no VCM
