HALIOS 1000m (prototype)

By TLex Here's a sneak peek at the new HALIOS 1000m AKA 'The Puck', which HALIOS have been dive and wear testing for the last couple of months. A couple of aesthetic changes are planned; the now black bezel insert will be changed to a dark gray with a brushed texture, the hour and minute hands of the final version will be brushed metal instead of the current white and the second hand will be completely black.

Notice that the bezel is fastened by 5 screws for easy maintenance; its teeth allow you to get a good grip with both wet and dry hands and are also designed to minimize accidental movement. Other features include 24mm lugs and a double domed sapphire crystal allowing distortion-free viewing at sharp angles. More pictures and info can be found by following HALIOS icon below . . .

BOSCHETT Harpoon (update)

By TLex These are the final drawings of the new BOSCHETT Harpoon. A slight change to the 'harpoon' second hand pointer has been made, but that's about it. Some corrections to my original post, too. The lip will only rise up 1 millimeter not 2, and the lug width is 22mm instead of 24mm. More info. and images can be had on the BOSCHETT Facebook page . . .

The Best | EVENTBACK TO TSUKUBA FOR THE IDLERS GAMES

When I was living in Japan, Tsukuba Circuit became a bit of a second home for me. It was close by, and featured some of the best car action in the world - paradise for a car crazed dude like myself. Of all the events I've been to at Tsukuba, few have left a bigger impression on me than the Idlers Club races. Idlers is where the internet legend of the Rauh Welt was born and is where you'll find the very best in Japanese automotive culture. When I found out there was going to be an Idlers event during my visit to Japan this month, it was tough to hold back the excitement....

The 2011 Veracruz is a four-door, seven passenger SUV, available in four versions, ranging from the GLS to the Limited AWD.

After the introduction, the GLS is equipped with a standard 3.8-liter V6, 260 horsepower engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city and 22 mpg highway. Limited AWD is equipped with a standard 3.8-liter V6, 260-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 21 mpg highway. 6-speed automatic overdrive is standard on both trim.

The Highlander uses less fuel much better than the Veracruz and has a lower starting price. The pilot has three sets of LATCH Connect in the second row - a big plus for families with three children in car seats - and costs about the same as that of Vera Cruz. However, neither the Highlander or the driver matches the list guaranteed to Veracruz along with standard features and interior luxury.

Acceleration and Power

The Veracruz comes with a 3.8-liter V6 shared with the Azera sedan. The engine delivers 260 horsepower and 257 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, equipped with a manual shift mode.

Even if the engine has a lot of horses, some of the test driver to find it slow due to the heavy weight of Veracruz. According to the EPA, the Veracruz FWD 17/22 mpg achieve city / highway, while the AWD model for 16/21. Although these data seem to be bad when you compare them to a midsize SUV that seats seven, are actually pretty typical. Only the Toyota Highlander seats seven and gets significantly better fuel economy.
