By TLex With 2012 just around the corner, the Vintage VDB 2012 is making its first appearance. The watch has a distinct military feel leaning more towards Italian with notes of Panerai and Anonimo, but with a twist Rolex vintage-mil. VDB have also encorported a number of design elements from their handmade models.
The case has some really nice features such as the massive '2012' lug engraving, the 12 o'clock top crown placement and the PAM Marina Militare / Submersible bezel design. It will be constructed 316L Stainless steel with a gray bead-blasted finish. It measure 46mm x 14mm with a lug to lug measurement of 53mm and 28mm screwed lugs.
The VDB 2012 has 60-click unidirectional divers bezel. Its markers with five minute increments. The screwdown crown is signed with the VDB logo. The screwdown caseback also carries a large VDB engraving along with the watch's LE# of 120 pieces. Once again VDB have gone for oversized shrouded lugs.
The Dial is in a muted brown with its hour-markers applied with yellow luminescent material and white surrounds. The handset will be in silver with a yellow chrome second hand. The VDB logo at 12 o'clock is in gray and a '2012' chili. The watch will have a water-resistance of 200 meters and will be powered by a NOS ETA 2837 caliber.
It will be supplied on a 28mm dark brown leather strap with a Stainless steel VBD buckle. Packaging will be a special torpedo box. Stay tuned for pricing and ordering info. . .
