LOUIS VUITTON Tambour Diving II (new)

By TLex Louis Vuitton have just recently presented their 2nd incarnation of the Tambour Diving watch, which was first presented in 2005; a watch that I have always admired. Five years on and the aptly named Tambour Diving II makes the shift from internal bezel to external bezel. The bezel grip has been marked out in rubberized 'Louis Vuitton' lettering. One letter for each the 12 hours of the clock, an exact and perfect match.

The drum shaped Tambour case, which the watch takes its name from remains, but design wise that's about it. Perhaps in an attempt to further advertise the watch's actual purpose above and beyond complimenting the wearer’s fashionable attire, Vuitton have thoughtfully added a divers flag motif for the subdial, as if to say, this is a dive watch!

There will be four versions of the Tambour Diving II, two case sizes; gents 44mm and ladies 39.5mm. The 44mm watches will come in either stainless steel or 18Kt Rose Gold, with either blue or black sunburst dials. The Rose Gold variant will have the blue dial and red as opposed to black for its bezel insert.

The end portions of Diving II's semi-skeltonized hands as the markers are, have been applied with white SuperLumiNova. The Tambour Diving II will have a 300 meter water-resistance as its predecessor, ladies version however only 100m. Louis Vuitton offer a 5 year International warranty on their timepieces.

My apologies for the lack hi-res images at the moment, but this is the one and only image floating round the net . . .
